Movie Review: 13 Eerie (2013) October Horror Fest (17)

So, sometimes movies are utterly disappointing right from the start. I mean, you've got some interesting actors here... You've got Katharine Isabelle from Hannibal & Freddy vs. Jason; you've got some more famous Michael Shanks from Stargate and Brendan Fehr from Roswell and CSI: Miami.

Synopsis
The plot is quite easy. A team of 6 forensic undergrads are going on a trip to be evaluated by their professor. The professor puts some corpses and some clues in different location. They are divided in three teams to investigate the different scenarios. Oh, didn't I tell you? This location used to be a prison (well the surrounding of a prison) where strange things happened... One of the inmates, now rehabilitated goes with them as their cook and chauffeur...

Meanwhile one older corpse (if it was years before, why awaken now??), awakes and claws one of the forensic students which turns into a zombie... And then all goes to hell and more zombies appear and kill other forensic undergradutes. In the end, only three of them plus the professor survivor but as they try to escape one zombie appears ending the movie...

Review
There are so many things wrong here... First the plot... Okay they are in abandoned island where strange experiments where being made into death row inmates. I am okay with that... But why leave some of them laying around? What's that black liquor and why did they leave it there after closing down the prison?  That makes absolutely no sense...

Then, what a heck was that filming in slow motion? Slow motion in action movies are okay so we can fully appreciate the scenes... or some romantic scenes... but using them in every action sequence is just plain wrong and stupid - and the action sequences were just too... well I can't even consider them action sequences.. The fight between the two girls it's one good bad example of slow motion and action sequence...

Then, with all the good actors why the movie look so cheap... I would have guess they taped it in one day as a  school project from a film producer. I am sorry. I cannot in full conscience give any credit to this film. If it were some new actors I would understand or if it was a B-Movie. But it wasn't... If not, the worst movie I've watch in my October Horror Fest marathon...

And I've check.. It cost $3,000.000 ... .Why? Where? Where did the money go?
