V/H/S was a rare find a
nd I really enjoy the format it was created. Basically it's a compilation of short movies (7) within one movie.
Basically all tales follow the premise of Found Lost Tape. The main narrative we follow a group of misfits that pass their time destroying houses and even more serious criminal classes like assaulting sexually a woman. They also videotape those things. In this tale they found a house where a old man is dead.
Then each tale is presented because within that house they found dozens if not hundreds of tapes. One of the elements stay in the living room watching those tales.
You've got one tale about a group of friends who hit on a couple of girls (one of them is quite strange) and something odd begins to change as that strange woman transforms into a succubus of some sorts. She then kills two of the guys and a strange sexual ritual begins. Very interesting.
The second tale is quite odd and I bit some part of LGBT community is upset.- But if so, then fuck them because you can have heterosexual, gay or trans people portrayed as killers. I will not even going to enter the JK Rowling debate which of course is nonsense. Overall the tale is a tale of love as well as is of betrayal. Good.
The third story is quite strange to be honest. It's a tale about a group of friends going to a field trip, camping of some sorts as one of them tries to scare them with a story. A really interesting twitch appears and that evil doer it's quite interesting. Wish more stories were written with him.
The next tale it's very interesting because we see in the perspective of a young teen speaking with the boyfriend and she think the house is haunted and she even finds that something is controlling her. After some interesting encounters we understand this story deals with aliens and incubators.
The last story deals with a group of teens masqueraded and they go to a Halloween party but instead find a haunted house and there are some people performing an exorcism of some sorts. They save the girl but then poltergeist happens and everything goes downhill. Very cool.
Overall, it's a good intake of horror with pretty much every time of stories you can imagine. There are nudity in almost all stories which it's always a plus and never really that far-fetched.
