This is my first audiobook in a while.. I've been hearing for a month now... I love thrillers that take to strange places and new worlds and although this brought to an interesting world beneath the ice of Antarctica since it's a continent, mostly undiscovered it failed on character-wise department.

There are always interesting tales about how life came to be on earth... how come pyramids are all over the world of civilizations that never met OR how some myths are so similar (like the flood). Atlantis is one place that could connect the dots but where is Atlántida? In this case, this mother civilization is in Antarctica and it has some interesting horrific monsters...

My main problem with this novel is the main character. OH my god what a boring little man. He is all powerful, hears, sees, feels etc much more than "normal" people... the justification? he was shot in the head and that made him superman without the shorts and cape.

He is boring beyond belief, we get information that he is a bit of unstable but never really is when it matters - only on small matters that really don't matter at all. The Russians are portrayed as very vicious again beyond belief but then fail spectacularly every time that matters. The vast majority of all other characters exist only to die or to provide some information about the world and such BUT apart from that they are just fodder.

Although I enjoy the civilization part and history the thriller is bad. 3/10
I will not be continuing the series because of the main character
