Anime Review: Rail Wars - (Summer 2014)

Rail Wars - This anime is only 12 episodes which dissapointed me. I have not discovered any information that a second season would be made. The series ended on an episode that didn't add anything

We've got:

Naoto Takayama - the main character who loves trains...
Aoi Sakura - The police wannabe, Standart Boobs
Haruka Koumi - The Virgin Stewards, bigger boobs (with a back problem I bet)
Lida Nana - The Boss, biggest boobs...
Shou Iwaizumi - The laissez-faire guy who for some reason don't look to the girls (gay probably?)
Sasshou Mari - Not so big boobs as the previous gals.

This series deals with our main character who just wants to be a conductor in the Japanese National Railway. He goes a little offtrack and becomes the squad leader of the Tokyo central Railway Public Security Office Fourth Viligance Squad. There with his squad go in several adventures, disarming a bomb, escorting a singer and then a prince and so on.  Don't understand why this is called Rail Wars because there is no War here. Maybe in the manga (is there a manga?)

So, each episode is met with his adventure and the boobs of his collegues. There is no nudity in the movie but a lot of touching (each episodes Naoto falls on top of one of them, or both).

Each female character, plus the singer and the prince who turns out to be a princess, develops a romantic feeling for Naoto (lucky bastard) and he only wants to concentrate on the trains. I think by the end of the last episode his feelings are only to Sakura.



The story is set on a Japan where the railways were never privatized and Naoto wants to be a driver so he goes training with them. I really enjoy the theme since I enjoy Trains so much and sure would love to travel on a train ride that last for days. But, don't get me wrong. The series falls short to want promises. The light novels deal with a groupf of fights to privatize the railways but here nothing of that he shown (maybe one or two situations). Instead we get a drama, comedy, boobs, ecchi, fan service, boobs and a boy dealing with a harem of boobs, sorry, girls.
One point of interest is all the information we get on trains, the models and series and differences between them. The animation is of a high standard and the 3D  trains fitten with the characters 2D...



Should I recommend this to you?
If you like trains, or if you are Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) then go for it. If you enjoy anime, there are a lot better out there. Again, don't watch this for the boobs, there are some side-boobs or akward situations with them but no nudity. Go see something else... or an uncensored version of it (don't know if it exists).

Movie Review: Prince of Darkness 1987

Prince of Darkness is the second movie of interconnected (only in theme) with three other movies from John Carpenter. The First was The Thing and the third is the In the Mouth of Madness. It has some connections with the Lovecraftian Mythos...

This movie was made in the 80's so the quality of special effects is not that good but in my opinion it works better this way. I really enjoy seeing horror movies from the 70 or 80's. Newer movies have their own special interest but the horror it's different. It's hard to explain but it's different. It's like liking MacGyver and House. One is not that developed and probably most people who was born in the nineties couldn't watch an episode of MacGyver without sleeping. But in my heart's it's there. Talking about offtopic I am really interested in seeing the new X-files. What changed from a 90's series and a 10's series... 

Well, now off to the movie. We start the movie in a classroom of some quantus physics / esoteric / philosophy where the professor of this class (Victor Wong - best know from the Big Trouble in Little China - one of most cherished movies from my teen days) is contacted by a priest (Donald Pleasence) telling that he discovered something in a church that was governed by one hidden sect called Brotherhood of Sleep for two thousand years.  There is some interesting views on history and Christ and the Darkness/evil/satan.

The all gang... Most actors here enter in other Carpenter movies...

Our main characters are Brian (Jameson Parker), Catherine (Lisa Blount) and Walter (Dennis Dun also from Big Trouble in Little China) (I bet there was few chinese actors at the time). 

So, the professor with the help of some of his students and othe areas of science try to uncover the mystery beyond the green liquid store for millenia. After some investigations, deciphrations of some hidden book and dreams we understand that the green liquid it's no other than Satan and he is not the worst guy because his purpose it's to free his father... an anti-god(?)

This movie it's provocative and intelligent and there are a lot of theoretical, scientific and religious discussions which also helps me love this book. The movie it's slow, don't expect much action (besides one or two scenes of fightining). The characters are well balanced and even Walter comedy relief works out nicely. The Atmosphere, one of the most important aspects in all horror movies/books/games it's presence. There is a ever-lasting dread and you never know what it's going to happen.

Should I watch the movie?
Yes. If you like horror stories without much gore but you want to feel a sense of dread througohut the movie then ten times yes. If you enjoy movies from the 80's then yes. If you can't handled that then skipped it. If you enjoy the Lovecraftian Mythos then yes. 

Btw, Allice cooper is a hobo in this movie ;)

One interesting fact is that the priest said that the church  was built by the Catholic church in the 1500's. Interesting is that the spaniards only settled Los Angeles in 1750's ...

Movie Review: Bloodsucking Bastard

Bloodsucking Bastards (2015) - I watch this movie in the train. It took me three voyages (1h30 total) and I really enjoy the movie. It deals with a bunch of characters that work in a call center selling several needless things. Our main character (Evan) is a guy who have just screw things with his girlfriend "Amanda". He his a 30'ish guy who is an acting supervisor, works hard but nobody respects him. Amanda is the HR and there is also two workers (Tim and Dave) who spent all day playing, watching porn and no sellings. As the Sales go down, the boss ordered a new guy (Max) to make things work. Max, is Evan's nemesis being Amanda old boyfriend.


But after the arriving of Max things started to look different. Workers became more efective and selling like never before.

What did I enjoy in the movie? Almost everything. It's not a movie that I would see again but it entertain me and made me smile with some situations...

It's not horror per se, there is a lot of gore and killing but mostly it's comedy. Even the dying parts it's comedy. There are some cliches like in my own callcenter. The janitor who nobody knows the name, the security guard who drinks redbull like water, the working hard collegues, the not so working ones, the boss who want more sales and so on...

Evan an Tim are the stars here but Max and Amanda also have some nice parts. 

If you want a movie to pass the time and you enjoy comedy and horror this is it. If you work in a callcenter then this is it. But if you don't enjoy blood don't watch it. It has a lots of it.
