Trying to Finish my Reading Pile of Books

You know I hate giving up on books and you all know it's being pretty hard to me to read. Probably because I am enjoying so much watching anime and series. So my goal to April & May if needed it's finish the books I am currently reading for several months...

First of all it's 
Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon vol 5. I am currently at page 68 with a total of 288 pages. Since is a light novel is quite easy to read so this seems to be the easy one...

Basically for those who watch the anime this is the last book adapted by it. 

Then we've got from Black Library Gotrek and Felix The anthology. I am at page 253 to a total 412. After finish Zombieslayer I want to catch up with other G&F novels that were released. They are canon but don't follow the plot of Zombieslayer but are set between those books. For some reason I am not aware Nathan Long stop writing G&F stories but BL decided to milk the cow a bit more... After these novels (4 novels total) I am going to try NL Ulrika or CL Werner Thanquol series.

Then we have Carpathia by Matt Forbeck. I am at page 94 of 308 and I am little bored with the novel and it's a top contender to drop but since it's quite easy read I am going to try again...

The Ambassador Chronicles by Graham Mcneill is comprised of two novels. They are set in old warhmammer world of Kislev. The two novels are called The Ambassador & Ursun Teeth. Having read the first I wanted to read Ursun Teeth. Started last year but stop reading...At page 50 of 288 (more or less since is a omnibus). I enjoy the novel but...

Curse of Necrach is the last BL novel I am currently reading. It's was written by Steven Savile one of my favourite writers in Warhammer (unfortunately this was his last book there). Well I am at the beginning so probably gonna start again from scracth. I am at page 33 of 409

Richard Laymon's Endless Night is the horror book I am reading. Having start at January because Laymon's books are quite easy to read (albeit a bit weak) I start reading and I stay at page 116 of 470.

Then there are two most interesting novels that I stop reading for different reasons. One is Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Stay at 50 of 600 so gonna be a little tricky. Quite good novel. Started last august... But it was a hard book to get into it... But I will finish.


The other one is a fictionalize angels vs demons set in amidst the bubonic plague in France. France is turmoil in a endless war with England and suffering from the Plague. I start reading because I kickstarter a game called Time of Legends with the same premise. It's a bit a while since I pick it up but I am going to finish. I am at page 222 of 426. The book is called Between two fires by Christopher Buehlman. Sure is a grimdark reading - the way I like it.

All in all it's more than 1700 pages... I highly doubt it to ended in one month BUT I will try.

Anime Review: Gakuen Babysitters (Winter 2018)

Gakuen Babysitters really resonate with me. Being a father of a 2 year old child I enjoy a lot of this show ALTHOUGH this is not a true realistic view of parenting - at all....

From the babysitter who sleeps while taking care of children, to let them wander alone in a school to other neglectic matters not that important here.

This show, a pure slice-of-life / comedy, is a show about brotherly love that must cope with the death of their parents. This is why normal in anime losing parents and dealing with it (normally quite easy).  This way the first couple of episodes we get to see both Kotarou (the young boy) & Ryuuichi (the older one) dealing with that loss and trying to live by it. By the sixth or seventh episode that was over and almost it neither that subject come into play.

As the episodes pogress we get to know Morinomiya (a older woman who adopt them) and Saikawa (her butler?). We also get to know Hayato who befriends Ryuuichi althought he is a bit anti-social kind of guy but has a brother in the Babysitter club called Taka.

Taka is the complete oposite of Kotarou. Taka is always running and smashing things while Kotarou is almost a statue. Probably or not, its interesting that Hayato punish his brother by hitting him in the head while Ryuuichi is more gentle and never resorting to violence. 

One thing that really interest me was the children. First I thought they were mis-characterize. They talk a lot (althought small sentences) but also were very considerative (it's a word?) and with great awareness. One of the girls deduce Maria Inomata (our Tsundere) hated Ryuuichi but later understands that after he loves/likes him. I don't think a child of 3 has that capacity. But mine is not 3 years old yet....

Lets be real... children are smart but... my wife is blind and she has a guide dog. He don't understand that she is blind yet. He cannot phantom that BUT we teach him that the dog we have (Quickie) helps her. On what he do he does not know or why. From time to time he says "a mãe tem doidoi nos olhos - o Quickie ajuda" - roughly translated - "Mommy has a owie in her eyes - Quickie helps" but that's about it... sometimes when she goes against something and hurts himself he calls the dog to help her. They are funny...

So when Kotarou went great length in episode 8 to grab a lemon because he thought Ryuuchi was feeling sick (cold) because Ryuuichi demonstrated a lot of pressure on what to answer to a girl who said she loved him - I laugh out loud...

This show is not to everybody. Maybe people with young kids or people with young brother they have to take care off (episode 9) shows Hayato and Ryuuichi talk about that pressure and that difficult their lives in some ways I really resonate with it. Hayato says that he don't care about what his brother Taka broke but he knows he was being malicious and even asking for forgiving he knew he didn't meant it - that's so true man! But they are not malicious - they are kids and have to learn.. It takes time. I have great control on my stuff being a avid reader and with thousands books at home and boardgames but one time he scribble on one of my books but whose fault was that? his? It's mine. It's a kid... he doesn't understand value of things or why he can write on a blank page but not in a 40$ book. They are kids and we are the adults... so Youko (the old woman) teaches the boy and it was funny. I had the same thought. Gonna try sometime :D

As Kotorou says "Little boys do grow up..."

Really loving anime. Slice of Life, Drama, Comedy & a bit of Romance (not that much).

I say again. Slice of Life were great this season. It's a shame next season there aren't that many...

Anime Review: Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Winter 2018)

I love romances. I know. I am black metal guy but I always loved Romances. And this show was marvelous until the last episode. It made me drop my innitial rating of 10 to 9 (which is awesome by the way) but unfortunately I cannot and will not put the same rating of Tsuki Ga Kirei.

Lets start with the animation and sound... Perfect perfect perfect. Wit Studio really shines here. They are probably my favorite studio. I love Owari no Seraph (was the first anime I watch since I return to anime in the end of 2015). Really enjoy Attack on Titan and Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. I am going to start watching Mahoutsukai no Yome which true be told as amazing art; and probably later I will watch Hoozuki no Reitetsu. So no problems in that department... when Akira was thinking of Kondou and animation that appear in forms of raindrops and bubbles with the accompanying sound was truly majestic. For s company usually focus on fantasy I think it work pretty well...

First of all - let me say that after watching the last four or five episodes I can honestly say this show is about Romance BUT more about Drama. This is also about following your own dreams. Kondou in writing and reading and Akira struggling to understand what it means to be happy and to acknowledge that sometimes you have to start over to get there...

Either way, I will recommend to anyone who enjoys Romance and Drama. More mature and "real" than Tsuki Ga Kirei no doubt. Nevertheless and unfortunately it fails like most animes focus on Manga that are still ongoing... They have no true ending and as a person who usually doesn't read Manga I start reading this one...

But I am going ahead of myself. The story focus on two characters. Akira Tachibana & Kondou. The first is 17 years old and former track runner who unfortunately gave up after some injury in tendon heel. The other one is Kondou a  45 year old divorced guy and has a child.

Basically after she enters his cafe and he shows concern and kindness toward her she quickly develop feelings for her and start working on the cafe to be more near of him. Thus start the story...

Some romances shows focus with young teens are boring because they are scared to tell the other person they love him. I initial thought that shy girl will also take her time to say she likes him but alas she was quick.  As the episodes progress so we learn more about her feelings and what he thinks of her... the show could go either way - either they got together surpassing the problems of age difference OR Kondou (the adult one) will understand it was wrong and she was felling for him because she was escaping other stuff. He hints at that some time...

And thus enter episode 7 a turn point and probably ONE of the most beautiful moments in anime history. So beautiful I almost cry...

But lets back up... Akira is a female runner who has I said had an accident and I think she alianates herself from the rest of her class (we rarely see her talking to anyone). The only girl she talks is Haruka (another female tracker) but because Haruka keeps running I think they grow apart (even if first Akira and then Haruka try to reconnect). And then at a crucial moment (probably a bit of depression since running was her dream) Kondou help her out and she became enamored with him. But I don't think, right from the start, it was real honest love but rather changing one goal with another. Like sometimes people that go to psychiatrists and such might think they are in love with them because they are "saving" them. But after a couple of first episodes they go on a date and it's pretty easy to root for them - even with that age difference.

The ending, well... it was hard to me to watch it. One part wanted them to be together and another part knew that probably Akira feelings are not tottaly true and Kondou (a gentle guy) would get hurt.

Anime Review: Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku (Winter 2018)

So here we go to another anime review... This time is Isekai Smartphone to Tomo ni season 2.... sorry nah... it's Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku or Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody and it was awful! 

Another show that the FBI will soon unrest the main character...

I love Isekai guys. I really do. Overlord was one of the first animes I watched and loved. Dan Machi aas well. But both Death March and Smartphone guy are crap. Comparing it Sword Art Online is almost an affront to it. Those two shows suffer  from the same problem I truly despise. Over Powerful characters. In Death March we follow Ichirou Suzuki who works at a software company and it's transported to another world. Right from the start he finish off some lizards with a fireball that make him level 300 or so and from this moment on every people he meets are between level 1 to 15 or so. There aren't anyone more powerful than him. And everything he do he do it easily.  So, of course he sets to do what High School DxD main guy couldn't... Be a Harem King. And this guy is the man. He has by the last episode 8 girls range 10 or so 17/18 and all want to jump him down HARD. (okay not all but half!).

The problem with the cast of females is that they are so many and so poorly written and most of them are alike or bland. After all they are characters from a game (minus one). From Liza, Ponchi or Tama who were slaves and were bought by Satou. But he doesn't end there Arisa & Lulu. Also Nana who is a Homonculus and become part of his harem - she has great boobs but unfortunately (or not) don't have a personality... Mia an elf princess and I am forgetting someone... But I tell you it doesn't matter. There is also soldier who he doesn't buy but saves in the first episode and that's Zena. It seems he has some legit interest in her but unfortunately the other gals don't let him pursue the feelings...

So each three or four episodes follows a arc (maybe a light novel) and Ichirou deals with plain and easily putting one more girl in his harem...

Sorry forgot to mention about the rest of the things... Art is okay - nothing to spectacular but fortunately not all girls have super boobs but they pretty generic comparing with other works from Silver Link. They really look the same with other characters from some of their shows.. good look ;) The sound it's there and serves its purpose but it's nothing too good.

He has a gun but in a fantasy world... He is not OP!

Overall it's one of those animes to watch between other animes but if you skipped it you would miss a thing. This show is not going to be recommend by anyone. Please don't watch it in one go... Unless you do it rapidly. 

Boring little anime, with no real ending (after all the light novels keep coming out and surprises me how people enjoy it). As a novel it might be good to read before some more complicated novels and thus I comprehend the hype after all we all do that. I do that with Dan Machi per example or some warhammer novels. But comparing the anime to Overlord, Grimgar or even Dan Machi or god's sake (well not him) Youjo Senki is really saying that Mongólia has a international football team as Portugal or Germany. They are both football teams but they play in very different leagues.

Anime Review: Kokkoku (Winter 2018)

Well just finish Kokkoku and it's a mess.

Basically this anime it's one more anime that will be soon forgotten by everyone. To whom would you suggest? Sci-Fi fans? Action fans? Super Power fans? Horror fans? I don't know what to make of it.

The premise is quite easy to understand (I think). So basically a grandpa reveals to his family that they have a stone that could stop time (no time limit) and unfortunately you had to use it because your grandson and son had been kidnapped.  Okay I can live with this premise. You go there save your kid and grandkid and try to escape but a secret society who had been worshiping your stone (yeah..) were able to enter that time stop timeline (Stasis) as well and they want your stone. How they did it it's beyond me since it's never explain because the other stone is the only one who can do it. That one mimics it?

So as we watch the episodes unfold one after another you get to understand the world. There are beings there that prevent you from doing harm to people in stasis (Heralds). If you try to kill someone you instead will be killed. But after the introduction of this interesting world that even invites us to ask some moral questions on what would you do and what-not the plot goes around around and nothing happens.

Most of the guys who entered are either killed by the Heralds in experiments made by their psycothic master or banished by our main character Yukawa who it seems has the ability to send them back to real time. The grandpa has the ability of teleportation but only a couple of feet away. Oh and the boy (has the ability to make herald do their bidding).

But then everything crumble... Bad guys turn to good easily as peach; some bad guys Majima only wanted to find their family while Shiomi one of the top bad guys realizes their boss is crazy and changes sides. Sako a wannabe old gangster just want to get into the pants of Majima.

As Sagawa (the bad guy) just goes around trying to find out more about the stasis (sacrificing their own guys) he almost turns into a Herald then something different which we never understand what it is. Later on Yukawa almost banishes him and he is reborn as child and so she and grandpa try to raise him. She quickly banish everyone else and stay in the stasis half a year and start raising a child... in the stasis... alone because she soon banish her grandfather then some crappy deus-ex-machina thing happens and she returns... 

There are so many things wrong with anime - it's weird (and not the good kind).

1) the animation is bad to say the least. It almost reminds me of Evil or Live animation.

2) the world had so many flaws - so time stopped and only people live so how could they eat food? Breath air in the same place? Why the girl, boy and grandfather had super powers?

3) those sex jokes were awful - all comedy in this show was awful and in awkward moments.

4) the animation in the end of the anime - why the almost naked girl? What's the purpose - show skin?

5) How slow this anime is appaling. This anime could have been made in 6 with no problem.

6) Wtf was that ending? The evil-doer turn baby? The woman appearing when Yukawa is going crazy and helping her? Talk about deus-ex-machina

Poor show that have few redeeming qualities.

Geno Studio is farily new to my knowledge. Before Kokkoku they've made Gyakusatsu Kikan which is in my to watch list and they are making Golden Kamuy which seems to be really really interesting

Anime Review: Ito Junji: Collection (Winter 2018)

What a disappointing show - it's going to be a small review. I really had high hopes from this one but they felt apart after watching a couple of episodes. Most of them are bad! But before all, bear in mind that I never read the manga so I can't judge or compare to it.

Basically this is a compilation of short stories, some of them are connected among themselves - I think they are all part from the same world.

Each story tries to dive into the aspect of mundane and facing the unknown. Unfortunately most of the stories are not that frightful but disgusting lol Sorry :D That grease story almost made me throw up because stupidly I was eating haha.

But overall I think it's better (way better) than Yami Shibai or Sekai no Yami Zukan.

I am sorry I can't say much because the problem with the show each story is over simplistic but it drag on. I think because it was made before as a manga (and from what I heard each story had only some panels) and maybe a 10/12m episode was a bit too much? Who knows... It's pretty hard to make horror anime - can't put my finger on why but there aren't that many with high scores besides Higurashi and a couple others but they are more psychological horror than anything else.... 

How btw why mixing horror with comedy beats me and a couple stories add it...

Sorry for the small bad review but unfortunally there isn't much to tell.... Watch one episode then decide if it for you. Animation is quite different, pretty much dark colours (look at the cover).

Anime Review: 25-sai no Joshikousei (Winter 2018)

The three animes (one for each season) that has some hentai ecchi elements... 

This will be a short review. This anime is that one anime that exist every season where they try a little further to cross the line between ecchi and pure sex hentai. Which in this case is the latter. This is hentai but with a plot. I've watch hentai with more plot. This is borderline rape! For ten people who watch it probably half are going to say that. Is there a plot? Is it interesting? No and no. Watch it for the hentai. It's good! Sorry can't say that much more...

You want the plot?

For some reason, stupid one, a girl of 25 impersonates a high school teen and from day one she is raped  have sex with some school male-nurse. There are other characters which are meaningless and it's about sex. Watch it. 4m per show X 12 episodes and you've got yourself a 48m. Please don't watch near other people... Sex or so each episode. 

The company Lilix is almost unknown so.. don't expect anything great. Animation in itself is great - the oppai really moves. Probably 30% of the budget went there :D

Anime Review: Sword Art Online Season I (Summer 2012)

Well this was a ride and I might say it was a boring one. I am not a hater of the show like most of the community is BUT I am not a fan. There are a lot of reviews that give it a 9 or 10 rating which I cannot fully understand because there are so bad stuff in it.


First of all lets talk about Asuka - She is a top player in SAO but after meeting with Kirito she basically serves as a cook and dame in waiting in the last 10 episodes. This was character killing right here and there. Good looking, charming a bit tsundere in the beginning I really thought she good be a excelent waifu BUT alas... the writer had plans to but Kirito as a HERO (all caps locks - so tough luck Asuka).

Then Kirito - yeah lets start here. Talk about overpowering character in anime. There are worst out there - like in Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku or Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. I know SAO is older but I hope the anime industry realizes that this doesn't work. Overpowerful characters don't make them more interesting. He has almost no personality but everything he tries to do - he do. And he also can have a harem but at least in this show he choose one and married her.

Now the plot - so basically 10,000 people are trapped in a game (I can live with it) but still live in the real life (I can live with it as well)  and the first two episodes are pretty good I might say - it took my heart BUT then it broke my heart without any remorse. Some side stories to give Kirito that air of self-remorse that appears from time to time but then more fillers about how he falls in love with Asuka and after one or two episodes we meet Asuka the fighter she becomes Asuka the cooker.

Then the final fight - deus-ex machina PLUS Kirito the invicible it ends and he awakes after several years in the game (at least he didn't grew and the muscles could rapidly move and he returns home to his sister - another anime the parents are non-existent).  So basically the plot advances where another game pop out but this one people aren't trapped.

IT seems Asuka is trapped in that game along 300 people. And it seems people still play that game and enjoy it (how? why? - the government really preoccupies about people...). We also learn that Asuka is being married (while asleep) with one of the father's workman who btw is the second villain of the anime series - which btw suck. One created the world to understand one thing but then afterwards soon forgets the reason (after all 2 or 3 years have passed) and the second one is psychotic and really so comically evil that I fight it hard not to express smile everytime I saw him.

The rest of characters, basically all women want to have sex with him (apart from that they are really pointless). 

Enjoyment? Well I had some. I watch it and I am going to watch the second season & this new sequel that don't evolve Kirito and Asuka - I hope it's better!

There are a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense and are really pointless - their virtual "daughter"; the other male characters which appears from time to time are just there with no real personality. I can't understand why people rank it 9/10. I really can't. Unless they are like High School DxD main character and want to be a Harem King but this time they choose one and keep the others. But no fan service so don't worry. 

This a show to watch if you want a simple anime set in a virtual world with not much to think about it... 5/10

Anime Review: Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Winter 2018)

Lets talk about one of the animes of the season. Not just for me but to the community in general. After all it has a rating in Mal of 7.92 (at the time of my writing) and you ask me why is that?

Well, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san is a story about love. What?? You ask. It is. It's a story about love in middle school and most of us don't remember our early years of middle school and can't phantom to remember if we felt love OR how we express it. One thing I know for sure - after all I am 37 now so...

Boys usually tend to pick on girls they love or at least care (or lust?) about. We tease and tease - that's the way young teens mind work. And thus enter these series BUT it's not they boy teasing the girl but instead the girl teasing the boy and at the same time understanding that both love one another but they really can't express.

She seems more mature giving hints that she likes him but he is a boy and thus become timid and screws up - while she teases some more. We never know what she really feels until the last episode.

I am not going into much spoilers (If we can call it that because from the start we know what this show is all about) but even if you have no interest in romance you will enjoy seeing Nishikata losing again and again against Takagi who is a mastermind in Nishikata psychic.




The 12 episodes follow the lives of these two young teens and each episode is divided in several segments (where Takagi-San teases Nishikata or Nishikata plots to tease Takagi-san). In most episodes we also see small 3/4m segments with three of his collegues and their interactions (Mina, Yukari & Sanae).

For those who do not know (I didn't) this anime is based on two manga. The main manga is obvisouly Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san  and the small three girls manga is called Ashita wa Doyoubi.

The Art and animation is very simple but works very nicely in this kind of anime. Takagi-san and Nishikata expressions are priceless. The sound and voice acting is great as well. No qualms. Not gaining an award but they do their job.

Talking about the show, you ask me, isn't a bit repetitive formula? No! There is a charm with each episode and never gets dull. With so much stuff going on on bullying you might ask but I will say - no. It's never bullying. They tease one another although Nishikata sucks on teasing her back after all she gain pretty easily read his expressions and mind.


Btw, in terms of character development it's one of those shows we see a main character (Nishikata) really develp throughout the anime since we follow him most of the time. 

It's not an anime to watch in one go lest will be boring no doubt. It was made to watch a single episode between more serious anime. It's an anime to watch before sleeping OR in my opinion they should have made it a 5/6m anime but instead of 12 episodes they could have made 52 or something like that. That would be very interesting!

Well, to me, it was a very interesting show to watch throughout the season and I didn't let accumulate 3 or 4 episodes and watch it in one go like most shows.

Spoilers Alert 
There is also a Manga about Takagi-San and her adventurous with Nishikiata and their daughter. Funny as well. Hope someday it will be put on anime like this one.

Btw, this show is a lot alike Tonari-no Seiki-Kun minus the romance part and in this show there isn't a tease per se... 

TV Series Review: Million Yen Women & Re:Mind (Japan - Netflix)

Well this was a blast. Watch it in two days 12 episodes!
True to be told I am at home because I underwent a surgery and now I am recovering....
I watch 88 shows since saturday :D That's a record no?

Well finish this one, trying to finish some animes of Winter and trying to end Sword Art Online (1 season); Star Trek (The original second season), High School DxD New. All of these gonna end probably tomorrow.

This TV Series I just finish watching is not great. But also it's not crap. If I had to compare it to Remind, which I finish watching Saturday, I would have to say I prefer Million Yen Women.

Midori, Hitomi, Yuki, Michima (Neko), Nanaka & Minami

So lets compare the two?

Both are Japanese, both have 12 episodes with 25m (Re:mind had one bonus episode) and both are mystery genre. Oh and both are from Netflix.

This one we follow Shin Michima and five other girls who live with him. (Gonna write only their first name); Minami a nudist that almost tries to be a Tsundere and loves coffee, Hitomi a yoga person who loves black tea, Yuki a silent woman with nothing in particular loves green tea, Midori a 17 year old high school girl who loves juice & Nanaka a very smiling person who loves milk... (there is no reason to put their drinking habits but meh...)

Basically these 5 girls receive an invitation that told them they will be living with Michimi and nothing more was told to us - oh and they had to pay one million yen per month. In the first 5/6 episodes we learn about their past never developing the reason they are there. We learn that Minami has a dark past and runs a luxury call girl service, Hitomi is the daughter of one of the most famous writers in Japan, Yuki is married with a 60 year old guy who is very powerful, Midori won a lottery of 1 billion and Nanaka is a child actress semi-retired. We also learn that Michima is the son of a murderer who is death row and he is in a stump in terms of writing.

As the TV Series progress we get to know that it's more dark show that we initial think. There is also a criticism in the show (a sub-plot almost) about the world behind publishers and writers. Who and what makes a writer great? A award? Critics? The number of books sold? It's very interesting... and this comes to the conclusion (spoilers ahead).

It turns out that all of these was a joke Yuki put up to see how a writer who fears death could cope with death all around him. Nicely played by her. She has Nanaka killed because she said that soemthing was wrong with Yuki. She had Minami killed because she says she knew who sent the invitations but couldn't do anything. But after those two deaths the rest of the gang dispersed. In a crude way Michima learns who the killer was and throughout one episode we learn about her motivations and such and that her experiment was over.

The Last episode we learn that Midori learn who the killer was through Minami and with the help of her assistant (more like an assassin or so) she kills Yuki and made her disappear. In the last episode it turns into a romance story about Hitomi and her love and respect by Michima. She wanted to be with him but he was too scared to get attached because of his fear of dying. MORE SPOILERS - They get together!

An very good story on paper but at times I was bored with Michima acting. Nanaka, Hitomi and Minami were the ones who drove this series forward.

Re:Mind is also a tale of mystery and interesting their actress are all from a j-pop group called Keyakizaka 46. And it was crap in terms of acting. So these girls (11 girls are sitting on a table shackled to the floor. She soon discovers that everything is related with another collegue from school who they bullied.


We also learn that they all belong to a group of young teens who supposedly fought for The Greater Good and punish people  whom they thought were doing not the correct thing - never thing about consequences.

As each episode progress and each remember doing something to Miho (the girl they bullied) someone would disappear. At times with was an interesting thing but others were just filling the episodes with stuff.  Several things are discovered like she had a boyfriend who killed her best friend and its was cheating with another of the girls or things like punishing someone like their teacher calling him pedophile because he touched too much.

I say it was boring, I watch the first 4 or 5 episodes in three weeks but then I wanted to finish because I hate leaving stuff in the middle. I am glad I finish but it's not one I would recommend to anyone because there are a lot of plot-holes in the story and it leaves an OPEN but very open ending like where are the girls? We know who made the stuff but with help of whom? Miho is dead? But also because the dialogue is almost childish and poorly written and I don't think the fault is in the translation. 

The last episode (a bonus episode and prequel of the series) are way better than the rest of the show! First we learn more about their relationship with Miho. We also learn about each girl interaction with one another.

Apart from Kyoko Saito everyone else is quite boring... But true be said I will watch a second season....

Anime Review: Yuru Camp (Winter 2018)

Yuru Camp is the epitome of Slice of Life about something most anime fans will never do but will love it nevertheless.


Like Long Riders! was about learning how to enjoy driving a bike this one was about camping. Both had some rookie advice about stuff you must have or could have while others had more complex information about stuff both things. 

This one had a minor sub-plot on food-porn. Each time they made outdoor food I thought WHY do I have a kitchen if I could only a mini-stove and do it all? It's sad...

Lets be real, Yuru Camp is way better and the rating on MAL proves it. The art and animation are way better. The characters as well. In this one we have pro Shina Rin while on Long Riders you had 3/4 girls but both had a clueless girl Nadeshiko in this one and Ami in the other one. This also follows a trend I enjoy about anime trying to educate anime fans about stuff we don't even care.. or think we don't - Hinako Note made about a trope of Theatre, Urara Meirochou about a fictionalize divining school, Stella no Mahou  about a computer company, Konohana Kitan & Kabuki-bu about Kabuki.

Don't get me wrong - it's interesting that anime can make this stuff a shows us that those things can be good. Geez I wanna go camping and I hate bugs. 

So why the high rating? Well it's a blend of very Cute Girls doing Cute Things with incredible landscapes you could have on your PC, interesting music. It's relaxing and watching before bed will grant you passage to nightmare-zone free zone. I smile while I watch this anime. 

And the food! 

If you want to relax, explore and watch do stuff you either don't feel confortably doing OR if you love it and do it this anime is to you. Slice of Life to the fullest.

Anime Review: Ryuuou no Oshigoto! (Winter 2018)

Here we go again with another anime about Shogi. One of them is at my radar (March comes like a lion) and a couple others. The last one I watch and was comic as heck was Tonari no Sei-kun. There were so episodes that dealt with Shogi and the stories the other character made in her mind - one is a battle between chess pieces and shogi. Go watch it.

Well but what's Ryuuou all about? Well the only thing I learn is that anime can make a boring Shogi game into a harem-comedy-exciting and FBI knock-on-your-door kind of sports. Why I say this? Well overall the anime never tries to teach you about shogi in any way showing some supposedly impressing moves about a game you've never played in your life. Maybe for japanese who play shogi that should be interesting.

In terms of other stuff not Shogi well... it's sucks.

We get to know some underage girls who play better than professional players - there isn't a distinction between them all. For those who love soccer - yeah everyone can play BUT you can see when it's a professional player or amateur. You know there are differences between Ronaldo or Messi and most other players in the world so that came out a bit bland. I mean, maybe it's because I don't understand Shogi BUT I don't think that's it...

Overall characterization is nonexistent, with probably Keika a 25 year old shogi player who must evolve to a professional player or else she must quit (don't know if it's a rule or something like that). Btw, why Shogi has a female and male rank? It's a mental game not physic so can't understand that "real life" situation. Yaichi is boring bland character and both Ai (the 9/10 year old girls) really love him for some reason. There is also a Ginko who is a Tsundere.

Every trope of a harem is there. There isn't much romance because Ai (one of them) is always blocking the stuff... There are some other more mature (if you can call it that) situations where both Ginko and Keika (probably not totally serious way) try to understand what Yaichi thinks of her. Bear in mind that one is 14 and the other is 25 while Yaichi is 16/17.

The animation is quite alright I have no complains there.

If you are watching with some other people around you beware because a couple of episodes (I think it was the first or second) there is a situation that almost puts Eromanga Sensei to shame... Rest of the episodes are quite alright.

Anime Review: Citrus (WINTER 2018)

Citrus is a show that initially led me to be believe it could be something more than Shoujo Ai but it was not. As each episode progress I became nauseous of Mei Aihara because I couldn't understand why the hell everyone was so interested in her. She is like some bread without salt...

This story is about a young girl Yuzu Aihara moving from her current house because her mother is getting married and starting at her new all-girl school where her step-sister Mei Aihara goes. And there comes trouble. Her step sister is a “perfect” girl, a student council with her life all plan out. In the other hand Yuzu is a Gyaru which clashes a lot with the rules of the school.
In terms of romance, Yuzu never felt love and Mei in the other hand had one loveless romance and the first time she meets Yuzu kisses her saying that it seemed she needed. Well Yuzu learns that she is a lesbian and that's a wrap. 

Plenty of girls trying to fool her around, first Himeko the vice-principal of student council which seems to have feelings for Mei); Matsuri Mizusawa who extorts money from men and now wants to have some fun with Yuzu and Mei (but at the same time teaches her both about feelings) and then in the last 3 or 4 episodes come Sara & Nina Tachibana from another school. One suddenly develops some love interest with Mei and it's the last step to Yuzu to realize what she must do....

Overall there are some interesting points in the anime BUT mostly in art and animation. Well and the music. Everything else is quite bland and we've seen it all. Nothing new. Safe-sex anime with a little lip kisses and other moments where you could say it touches sexual harassment...

It's not an anime I would personally suggest to anyone. There are better Shoujo-Ai animes out there...
