Best Books of 2023

Here we are again, 2023 is now gone and I almost finishing my last book of the year. I've read 152 novels with 43067 pages. Pretty good, right? I know.

In terms of rating

5 Stars - 27 Books

4 Stars - 68 Books

3 Stars - 33 Books

2 Stars - 17 Books

1 Stars - 9 Books

In terms of favourite books of the Year were; I Think this is the correct list. There are some books that should be here like Tombs by Junji Ito, or my reread of Trollslayer & Fellowship of the Ring. I won't add them here but If I had they would be 3 & 2 respectably.

12. The Ravening Deep - Tim Pratt

11. The Exorcist -  William Peter Blatty

10. Scythe - Neal Shusterman

9. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet - Anthology

5. Pet Sematary - Stephen King

Disappointing Reads
  1. The Fall of Chronopolis Barrington J Bayley
  2. The Overlords of War Gerald Klein
  3. Samhain Sorceries - Anthology

TBR Month of October

The Month of October is the month of Horror, it's month I review horror movies.

But in terms of reading I Am torn between reading horror as well or to read old books (sci-fi/fantasy). Short of 100 of 3000 so I believe it's achievable. But being older books there may be some problems reading.

  1. The Anubis Gates - Tim Powers 464p (1983)
  2. The Body Snatchers - Jack Finney 226p (1954)
  3. The Martian Chronicles - Ray Bradbury 305 (1950)
  4. Something Wicked This Way Comes - Ray Bradbury 262 (1962)
  5. The King of Elfland's Daughter - Lord Dunsany 240 (1924)
  6. Childhood's End - Arthur C Clarke 242 (1953)
  7. The Broken Sword - Poul Anderson 274 (1954)
  8. Darker Than You Think - Jack Williamson 266 (1948)
  9. The Iron Dragon's Daughter - Michael Swanwick 342 (1993)
  10. Behold the Man - Michael Moorcock  124 (1969)
  11. Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes 216 (1966)
Horror
  1. Pale Fallen Angel Part one and two Hideyuki Kikuchi 299 1994
  2. Pale Fallen Angel Part three and four Hideyuki Kikuchi 290 1995

  9. The Deadly Grimoire Rosemary Jones 344 2022
  10. The Ravening Deep   Tim Pratt           330 2023

A Compilation of some of my favourite TV Series to watch (Non-Woke) - Western & Korean & Japanee

I dislike almost everything being created nowadays by Hollywood. They are corrupting and destroying everything that was great from Hollywood to pursue an agenda that they either believe is the correct one or in case of Disney don't even believe. The reason have been explain timeless times but the main stream don't go with it because that would lower their own political, money agendas. I don't understand how companies can keep losing money and pull this kind of crap. Disney cares so little, like the vast majority of these companies that at the same month they proudly show their flags on their twitter accounts, they don't do the same in their arabic or chinese version of it. They believe so much that a black character from star wars (Finn) was removed from the movie poster in china. It's absurd that all of these is know and still people throw money at them. So, let me show you a couple of shows (american) and some from japan/korea that I thing are good for anyone who wants something simple and without agenda... No particular order (rating is imdb) or mydramalist (korea & japan)

Western Series

After Life (8,4) by & with  Ricky Gervais - After Tony's wife dies, his nice-guy persona is altered into an impulsive, devil-may-care attitude that takes his old world by storm. It's a drama, comedy and it's Ricky Gervais

Ash vs Evil Dead (8,4) by Bruce Campbell. You know, who right? Evil Dead.
Ash has spent the last thirty years avoiding responsibility, maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind's only hope. (unfortunately never got an end)

Blood Drive (7,2) In a dystopian alternate 1999, a former cop is forced to take part in a death race in which cars run on human blood as fuel.  It's Mad Max, Death Race & Splatterpunk in one. It's really a shame only one season was created.

Chernobyl  (9,4) In April 1986, an explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics becomes one of the world's worst man-made catastrophes.
It's an interesting view on how the Chernobyl catastrophe unfolded. Of course it's western made. There is also a version made by the russians which is far worse.

Colony (7.4) In the wake of a mysterious alien invasion, a family fights to stay together in a new world order. (no ending)

Future Man (7.7) Josh Futturman, a janitor by day and a gamer by night, is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time to prevent the extinction of humanity.
A comedy scif fi stuff. I Don't consider it woke but I can see people do it.

From (7.7) Unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest; including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.

An interesting part horror, part mystery. It's ongoing and after two seasons I don't know where they are going with it

Inside Nº9 (8.5) Genre-mixing anthology series, inviting viewers into some very different and enigmatic No. 9s.
Every episode is different. The only consistency are the two actors, nº 9 and an hare. It's so good. Dark Comedy.

Love 101 (7.4) (Turkish) In 1990s Turkey, a group of teenage outcasts band together to make their beloved teacher fall in love so she'll have a reason to stay in town with them.
This is a show I shouldn't have enjoyed as much as I enjoy it. It's a drama & romance about the life of some misfits (and not) from a school in Constantinople Istambul.

See (7.6) Far in a dystopian future, the human race has lost the sense of sight, and society has had to find new ways to interact, build, hunt, and to survive. All of that is challenged when a set of twins are born with sight.
Momoa really delivered on this show. Is dark it's gritty and is grimdark. It's violence for violence. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the two children. They were boring as fuck. But it's worthy just for Momoa.

Silo (8.1) Men and women live in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.
Interesting interpretation of a novel I've read almost twenty years ago. Highly advisable. Breath of fresh air.

Severance (8.7) Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it begins a journey to discover the truth about their jobs.
When I started watching this I Was what a heck is this? So, hollywood can still make good interesting stories? It's very good. I'm hoping for a second season

Stan Against Evil (7.3) An aging police sheriff begrudgingly joins an alliance with a new sheriff, Evie Barret, to battle angry demons haunting their small New Hampshire town.
This is a awesome horror, comedy action series in the same vein of Ash. If you didn't knew you could almost say they were done by the same people.

Stranger Things  (8.7) When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl.
First season is probably one of the best things that I've watch. Going back to my youth was amazing. I devoured it and I've watched again with my wife and is one of those shows that I will go back again. I think they have to finalize the series because it's loosing steam.

Swamp Thing (7.4) Abby Arcane returns home to Marais, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, only to discover the dark, terrifying mysteries of the swamp.
Î've watch this show was was flabberghast when they didn't renew it. It was a good show about a super hero (?)

The Mandalorian (8.7) The travels of a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.
After the prequels, and Rogue One, the Mandalorian is the only thing worthy of watching.

The Night Manager (8.0) The night manager of a Cairo hotel is recruited to infiltrate an arms dealer's inner circle.
A thriller based on a novel. So good. Dr House (the actor not the character:P) is so good on the series. Short and concise.

Wayward Pines (7.3) Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions. What's wrong with Wayward Pines? Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he might never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

alice in the borderland (japan)
Last but not least, Wayward Pines was awesome when it arrived ten years ago. It was a shame that the series was scrapped. I've read the books so I know the ending. Unfortunately knowing the books now I know they've changed a lot because of the main character death on the first series.

I would also include the Walking Dead here. Yes I know it's woke nowadays. But the first 6/7 seven seasons was so good. I watch it until the end and I've got to say the last seasons were crap. The same happen with Fear of Walking Dead. The first two or three seasons were great. Alicia!!! Not counting with one episode, the top 20 episodes in IMBD are all from the first 4 seasons.

Korea & Japanese Series

Now I will also include some Korean or Japanese Shows for you to watch. Yes I know about that over famous one with octopus and such so I won't talk about that one. This ratings are from mydramalist.

If you want romance you've got Crash Landing on You (9.0) which deals with a wealth south korean billionaire being stranded on north korea and we get a glimpse of their lives. I don't know if the north korea depiction of reality is correct but either way is a hard place to live. It's comedy and it's romance. It's awesome.  If instead you want a historical romance stuff you've got Red Sleeve (8.8). If you want a revenge story with no comedy and sticks until the end you have to try The Glory (8.9). And if you want mystery & Drama you've got My Mister (9.0). If you want zombie like walking dead but better you've got Kingdom (8.8) You've also got All of us are dead (8.5) but I prefer Kingdom. Horror focus you've got Monstrous (7.5). There is also Happiness (8.9) is action, sci-fi & thriller

Bear in mind that all Korea shows are slice of life and every episode is around 1h10. They do what in Portuguese we call them Telenovelas. Every episode, almost, can have less 30m. But it's good, believe me.

3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu
In terms of Japanese stuff you've got slice of life and food Midnight Diner (8.3) or the squid game alike Alice in Borderland 8.8. Interesting or not Squid Game has 8.5. You've got Stay Tuned! 7.6. It's a story about the adventures of a reporter. Funny and interesting at the same time and finally 3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu 8.6 which was groundbreaking to me. With graduation 10 days away, homeroom teacher Hiiragi gathers all 29 students of class 3-A and proclaims them as his hostages. His last lesson regards the death of a student that passed away a few months before. Nobody will be able to graduate until the truth is known.  It's so good to see the real lives of school teachers and students and not a romanticise version of it. It is a tale about the problem of social media in schools (and not only that). I remember watching several episodes in one go. We are talking about episodes of 1h20 each.

So there you have it. Some good examples of non-woke shows to watch.

IF you want to advise me some series please do so...

I had some reading goals and to be honest I am failing quite a bit, as expected, to be honest. I should have read 6 Horus Heresy novels and I've read 2. I should have read several warhammer fantasy , some vampire hunter and 12 star wars but so far I only read 2. Oh well.. This some of my pile to read in the next few months;

I'm being over ambitions because I know stuff will not be read and things will go for for next years or so. It's 54 novels.
You've got fantasy, sci-fi, horror, mystery & thrillers.
IT's around 18000 pages probably a bit more

Having in mind that I've 16500 pages it's not impossible; but not probable. Let us see.

The above list may change... But that's my goal

Then is to continue/finish some series like;
  • - Continuing Vampire Hunter D (at least 2 novels) - Book 9 & 10
  • - Continuing Drizzt Novels Promise of the Witch King & Road of the Patriach
  • - Continuing Richard Laymon 6 novels (once every two months)
  • - Continuing Ender Saga with Children of the Mind
  • - Continuing Black Jack - Dreadnaught
  • - Continuing reading Aconyte novels set in Arkham Horror; Zombicide
  • - Finishing Ed Macdonalds Ravencry & Crowfall
  • - Finishing Poirot - 5 novels remaining
  • - Finishing Beast Arise Series - 5 books remaining
  • - Finishing Read Beasts of Velvet - Last book on the series
  • - Finishing the last novel on Thanquol Series by CL Werner
  • - Finishing Tomes of the Dead series (4 novels to go)
I can't leave without horror and the vast majority are solo stuff.
So a lot of stuff... I keep buying so some stuff I will fail, hope not. My really priority is starting the humogous task on Horus Heresy. With 54 novels plus novellas, short stories and Siege of Terra, there is stuff until 2030.

Oh and I am also continuging with several rereads like Harry Potter; Lord of the Rings, Elric & some warhammer/40k stuff. Let us see if the next year is good... I hope so...

TV Series & Movies of the Year of 2022

I've watch a lot of movies this years, the vast majority horror. I always try new stuff. Sometimes I don't finish the movie if it's crap..

Best ones of 500 movies I've tried...

Deep Impact - 8.5 Stars - The 1998 story about a comet colliding with earth. The difference between this and the other released that year (Armageddon) is that this one is more focus on characters.

DeadTime Stories - 8.5 Stars - A babysitting uncle tells his nephew three horror stories about killer witches, Little Red Riding Hood and a werewolf, and "Goldi Lox" and the three bears.

Joker - 9 Stars - A mentally troubled stand-up comedian embarks on a downward spiral that leads to the creation of an iconic villain. Ye all know about this. It's controversial and it's awesome.

Suicide for Beginners - 9 Stars - This is full of comedy and horror elements. Writing the perfect suicide note is not easy.

Rocky - 9 Stars (1976) - Need I explain?

Waiting for the Barbarians - 9 Stars This one is a retelling of french army conquering of north africa. But it's a fantasy stuff. IT's collonialism. It could be a lot more. It could be expanded for greater scope.

A Writer's Odyssey - 9 Stars This is a Chinese movie that mix the "real" world with a fantastic world. It's cool and really innovative. IT's magic and the action scenes and Fx elements are awesome.

Venciafrenia - 9 Stars

This is a spanish horror movie set in Venezia with elements that really connected and made me really invested in. Since I recently was playing a boardgame set in Venenzia with zombies and this strange carnival twisted stuff I was really love it. Btw, the boardgame is Carnival Zombie.

Perfect Number - 10 Stars So this is a Korea mystery thriller. It's one of the most thought provoking stuff I've watch that really made me invested on the characters and the reason behind their action. Everything from the beginning to the end was thought.

Gran Torino - 10 Stars This was a movie that innitially I didnt think I would enjoy it but as the story progress I started being invested and by the end I was crying. Damn...

The Prince of Darkness - 10 Stars To me is one of the best John Carperter movies, well the best one I think, and one of the best 80/90 horror movies overall. It's awesome. It's about a group of scholar graduates who are trying to understand why some people are getting some strange visions and acting weird. They find something odd in a chapell and no matter what they do, science can't explain everything. It's really good.

Now about the TV series

Did you saw a lot of tvshows ? Yeah. Some were great, some were awful... Not going to talk about every one but let's go...

The first one I wanted to say is that one of the best was Red Sleeve a Korea time period stuff. Comedy & Drama. Made me cry a lot. Then I went to All of Us are Dead also a Korea show of zombies and survival. You got the usual suspect - Walking Dead. Finally it finish and it was a good show to be honest. Some woke elements but overall I enjoy it. Prison School from Japan is a good comedy, ecchi stuff. Really cool. Superman & Lois continues and I am enjoying the stuff. Orville is also interesting as always - always woke but wtf can I do. Stargirl & Avenue 5 & Chucky were good as previous seasons Not that woke, well chucky was and althought I wanted to learn more the all "they" character was laughable. Yes. Like a murderer is going to run at you and know you wanted to be treated as "they" LOL - unfortunately everything nowadays has some woke elements but they are beareable.

Most disappointing stuff was without a doubt BOYS. What a woke crap. Oh and Lucifer last season. h my god... How to destroy a TV Series.

Music Awards 2022 - FOR ME - Trha & Sadness

This year I found out that I am enjoying a lot one artist that have two bands. You don't know but I love music, black metal to be precise, since I was 15. I am now 42. I've heard everything and beyond. From pure black metal to COF and everything inbetween. At like 35 I started finding atmospheric black metal and my taste changed... And then last year I found Trha and his song Dolh from https://trha.bandcamp.com/album/lhum-jolhduc was my favorite music of the year having heard like a every night from one year... (not kidding)

I have Tinnitus and so at night I hear him to help me fell asleep - I kid you not. And then as he released more and more and heard everything but that music is till my favorite. Then I found Sadness and I knew there were some resembles but one day on metallum everything wen live and we knew it was the same person... So for reference;

Trha https://trha.bandcamp.com/

Sadness https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/

He releases a lof cd's throughout this year and the last years and I bought them all. I don't have everything yet of Sadness but from Trha is instant-buy. I didn't even heard and it's I buy it.

And what is this?

Well this guy is a genious. No doubt about it. I am not saying that there aren't a couple of songs that ressonate with me - but almost everything do.

It picks me up, instead of making me feel sad. It gives me hope it gives me pleasure earing and since there are so many songs and styles it always felt a bit different. You've got emo screams, mix with black metal, with shoegaze, ambient , post rock ... If you hear per example

https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/album/motionless-watching-you-2  is totally different from https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/album/and-longing-are-the-endless-waves). If you didn't knew it could have been a different guy.

Is this level of eclectic stuff (is that a word?) that pulls me...

TRHA in the other end the musics are more metal, noise, raw, screams and all in a language he invented and it's not like let me grab here some words and put a music. No, there are lyrics that goes two or three pages and even if most you don't know what they mean (he has shared some lyrics in english) you know there words are identyical from one place to another so it's this level. I Am not saying he is Tolkien. Tolkien worked with it, and study finish welsh and old stuff to make this language look phonetic and writing very similar. You can understand , not understadning that the words are an evolution and so on. Here is not that... At times I thought it was hungarian and probably he got references from several languages and mix match. Don't know...  But it's awesome to see this level of commitemend from someone who didn't stick with the easiest path and went beyond. He even created a youtube channel where he pronuciates some of the words. Very cool.

So my advise to you this year? From Sadness:

https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/track/melancholie-und-die-hoffnung-des-horizonts This song is awesome and really interesting  journey of 21:20 minutes. Love it. It was written back in 2015 so he was what 17/18? Damn impressing.

From Trha ye got https://trha.bandcamp.com/track/s-trharhanlha or dolh

So perfect music... BUT To be honest choosing one song over dozen he wrote it's just awful. Start at the beginning and go down that rabbit hole. You will be amazed.

Next year I don't expect anything different...

Please continue to make great music.. I will keep buying. Wish I could have CD's to hear in my car.

Top 9/10 Analysis

So, what are my favorite genres? I would say horror, but most books I have are fantasy.

So let us make here a quick chart. I will put Warhammer Fantasy & 40K in a different take

So 35 books with 10 stars  (Some were re-reads)

7 - Warhammer Fantasy (Gilead's Blood, SkavenSlayer, The Palace of Plague Lord, Daemonslayer, Dragonslayer, Beastslayer, Darkblade: Reign of Blood)
5 - Fantasy (Elric Melniboné, The Sailors on the Seas of Fate, The Weird of White Wolf, Emperor's Soul, SpiderLight)
3 - Warhmmer 40K (Shadow Knight & The Dark Path, Daemon World, Last Day of Ector)
3 - Horror (Dark Gods, Uzumaki, Remina)
2 - Mystery (Murder of Roger Ackryod, And Then there was none)
2 - Sword & Sorcery (Bran Mak Morn, Darkness Weaves)
2 - Sci-Fi (HitchhikerGuide, Dune)

Alternative History  (Fatherland)
Adventure (Journey to the center of the Earth)
Post Apocalpytic (On the Beach)
Forgotten Realms (Homeland)
Dragonlance (Soulforge)
Dystopia (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
Thriller (Far Empty)

So, if you join all the fantasy , of the 35 would be 14 (2+ reread so 16)

That's surprising, I enjoy reading horror but they are not the top... Now total with 9 / 9.5 / 10 (plus the total books of that particular genre)

64 Fantasy (269)
47 Sci-Fi (406)
21 Horror (294)
4 Historical (30)
4 Mystery (48)
3 Thriller (53)
3 Classics & Children Books  (36)
0 Non- Fiction (11)
0 Romance, Steampunk. Western (1)

So it seems that I enjoy more fantasy and read more sci-fi ? Odd... To be honest 90 were Doctor Who so it can go either way.

FOMO - How is controlling my life - Advices appreciated

If you don't know what FOMO is, I am not the best person to talk about it since I am not a psychologist ALTHOUGH to my knowledge is the Fear Of Missing Out.

How can it control my life?

Well basically we are inundated with pressure from life - normal one - like family, work , school etc and then we've got our hobbies and they are becoming chores instead of enjoyment...

Have you ever felt that if you don't know X situation you feel lost? If you didn't watch that latest show or read that "special" book? After a while that you start doing stuff you don't even appreciate and not doing stuff you want. Losing time to facebook, tiktot, instagram , reddit etc...

This is a very brief and my understanding on what is FOMO - it may completely wrong BUT this un-named problem is plaguing me...

How?

Let me explain; I don't have social media besides Reddit and Blog. And the Blog I don't really follow anyone. But reddit is a source of problem.

But my lack of enjoyment is being damaged for other stuff..

As you know I love reading but what you don't know is that I Have 5000 novels. Yes, I have more than 5000 novels which I have been amassing over the years

This is my overall books I bought and read.. as you can see I have over 4000 novels - probably more - I believe I am not counting everything I have  BUT alas, it's a good idea... This are purchased books not ebooks or audiobooks.

As you can see I read roughly 25%. IF I continuously read for 100 pages per day I will not be reading everything since I don't expect to live past 80 and my past prime will be gone... So I already divided my reading stuff for stuff I want to read and next wave..

My first goal is to diminish the purchase of books. Only buy some I feel essential ,or special editions. I recently purchase some LOTR novels I love among others special editions....

So what did I do what I am going to do...
In terms of books I will reduce the value/amount of books I am going to buy... maximum €100 per month.

Usually BL publish like two or three per month, so that's around 30€ the remaining will be to new releases and tries... I hope I can do it. I will let you know in 25/9 how I 've done it.

How? I made a list of all books I want or going to be released and per month we're talking 2  at maximum...  Then I every month see if my favorite writers publish some more stuff.

Now how to read more and to get of my chest about the FOMO on movies, tv series and animes..
I've watch a lot of animes, like 1200 different series but my blacklog is around 950+. I will cut in half this.

I had around 200 movies, I've already cut this as well for 60 or so - 30 of them are for Oktober Horror Fest.

Netflix & Disney - I had 227 different series and titles to watch on both the app's - I cut them down. I now have 54. My goal is to cut down even more to 30 and then only add one if I remove another... With time I will be reducing even more...

In terms of series I am watching and such I don't have that many, sometimes I have like 10 series and 10 animes BUT I simply don't have time. So I am cutting down seasonal animes & going to cut series... Every type of series that I consider WOKE or garbage I Won't watch it. Per example LOTR War of the Ring I won't be watching because I dispise everything they are doing to JRR Tolkien memory and world. It's bsaically fan fiction at this point and I won't be watching. Boys tv series turn woke and I burn it....

So that's it for me for now...
Reduce watchlist material, watch more "important" stuff.
Reduce buying of books - read more books

Simple, no?

Yes the next NEW BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR is x,y, z but I must not fall into buying just because x tell. That's why I reduce the name of reddit channels and reduce from 120 channels on youtube to around 40. I will reduce more. Less temptations no?

FUCK FOMO!

Thoughts: Reading Challenge - 1000 Novels - Info Dump

I like to control what I read. I like to make objectives and going for it.

So, this year I made a goal of reading 75 novels and I accomplished them with 2 months to go. This month of September I read 13 novels !!! UAU! That's 3681 pages!! more than 100  per day which I never did before and this month I arrived at 1000 books in goodreads read.

I've read more than 1000 novels but I only started counting in 2004 so what's before I didn't put anywhere. Some I remember and put it others I don't even remember so they are not important EhEh.

Well, so what can I say about my 1000 books (well 1012 now)

It's seems that my favourite genres are:

- Sci Fi (374 - Bear in mind that  this includes 87 Dr Who audiobooks)
- Horror (238)
- Fantasy (231)
- Thriller (43)
- Mystery (42) (most of them Agatha Christie)

In terms of Writers

Besides Anthologies which have 58 novels we've got:

Agatha Christie 39
Nicholas Briggs 22 (Dr Who)
Brian Keene 17
Dan Abnett 16
Stephen King 16
R A Salvatore 15
Sandy Mitchell 12
Hideyuki Kikuchi 12
Bentley Little 11
Simon Guerrier 11 (Dr Who)
Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman 11
Brian Stableford 10
Steve Lyons 10

But this doesn't show the ratings

So only counting with 8 to 10 we've got with over 4 novels:

Dan Abnett  14 (Black Library)
R A Salvatore 13
Anthology 12 (Half are (Black Library))
Agatha Christie 8
Brian Keene 8
William King 7 (Black Library)
Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman 6
C L Werner 6 (Black Library)
Bentley Little 6
Steve Lyons 5 (Black Library)
J K Rowling 4
Anthony Reynolds 4 (Black Library)
Nathan Long 4 (Black Library)
Stephen King 4
Nicholas Briggs 4
Gordon Rennie 4 (Black Library)

So this is something, no? And there is a pattern - my favorite novels are either horror OR they are from Black Library authors. I have to concentrate more reading 8 to 10 authors...

I've read 498 different authors - That's impressive, no?

Out of these 317 I've read 1 novel

So what now?

I will try reading 100 pages per day (probably aiming for 80 or so) because it's more realistic.
