The ones I watched - let me focus only on bigger Series....
- Hyouka (Spring 2012) with 22 Episodes - it's on my top 10 animes
- Amagi Brilliant Park (Fall 2014) with 13 Episodes
- Violet Evergarden (Winter 2018) with 13 episodes
- Tamako Market (Winter 2013) With 12 episodes plus a movie
I've just finished
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu with two seasons each 14 episodes plus a movie. Review below...
Next to watch
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! 24 Episodes (divided in two seasons) plus some movies; ovas and specials. or Kyoukai no Kanata - I am still undecided.
One I am going to watch in the near future, probably afterwards and slowly is going to be Clannad with 50 episodes..
Undecided yet of the date but still this year Liz to Aoi Tori , Nichijou, Hibike! Euphonium & Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon
Undecided Air, Kanon (2006), Lucky☆Star & K-On!. Free! & Tsurune: Kazemai Koukou Kyuudoubu Unot now.
Well Suzumiya... What to think of that... The series are divided in three things. Two searies each with 14 episodes then a full lenght movie with more than two hours. It could easily been made into a TV series althought I understood why they didn't.
The series follow Kyon the narrator and protagonist of the series. He is a sarcastic and easy going guy who is drawn to Suzumiya way of life. After meeting him she starts a club called SOS Brigade where the goal is to help people against the supernatural, extraterrestrial and such. Three members later enter the club; Yuki Nagato which is a bibliophile that gives no hint of any kind of feelings or emotions - we later understand that she is god-like being. Then we've got Mikuru; a time-traveler who was assigned to investigate the reason why no-one can travel back more than 3 years. Then'v you've got Koizumi an esper.
All three characters join to either control Suzumiya or to investigate why the world is the way it is. Basically when Suzumiya gets bored the world suffers with it - a fracture reality pocket of some sorts appears and within monsters threaten reality.
The reason is never explained on why she has this kind of powers... The series were released within two seasons but they were not chronologically released. I've seen it chronologically and seeing now I believe it's the correct way.
The first season is very good with a lot of good tales where our characters really develop. The second season has the infamous Endeless Eight where Kyoto Animation made 8 episodes that have very small differences but fundamentally they are identical. The reason to my knowledge was never really given. In my opinion three episodes are more than sufficient and you can safely skip the fourth to seventh episode - if you want.
The movie is the crown jewel of the series in my opinion. It focus a lot on Kyon with great monologues and really develop him. Haruhi unfortunately is absent most of the time which is rather unfortunate.
I would advise anyone to watch it; but skip those endless eight episodes (except the first and last).
Is it the best from Kyoto Animation? Not by a long chance. Hyouka is way better - but if you compare with other seasonal animes it's top notch.
